Gardening with a Bible and a Trowel:
Learn what the Bible teaches about gardens and gardening, followed by practical advice about tending your own garden. Led by a master gardener, the sessions will take inspiration from
Biblical scripture beginning with the Garden of Eden. During our six weeks together, we’ll talk about seeds, weeds, pruning and herbs, and end in the Garden of Gethsemane. The first half of each session will focus on a discussion of relevant Biblical scripture. The second half will dig into our own gardening experience and challenges.
Facilitator: Doug Coffey, Tuesday, April 13, 7-8 PM Bring your Bible
and a virtual trowel.
Simon Peter: Flawed But Faithful Disciple:
Book and DVD by Adam Hamilton. While Simon Peter’s shortcomings are on display in the Gospels, so also are his courage, his determination, his longing to follow Jesus even if it costs him his life. Examine how Peter’s story speaks to us today and how it can help us to know Christ more fully and become the disciples Christ calls us to be.
Facilitator: Roz Reichard, Thursday, April 15, 7-8. Book is available for borrowing from the church library or can be ordered online at Amazon or Cokesbury.
