Exciting Offerings for this Spring Session:
THE 5 LOVE LANGUAGES: Gary Chapman’s classic was first introduced in the 1990’s. This class will highlight group conversations of how to express love in different ways, examining what your own love language is and how to communicate. Couples and singles are all encouraged to attend this highly participatory class. NOTE: There is no video for this class. (Facilitator: Rebecca Uselton)
FEAR OF THE OTHER; NO FEAR IN LOVE: William Willimon is a professor at Duke Divinity School and a retired Bishop of the North Alabama Conference of the UMC. He writes this “very timely book.” It is easiest to socialize (and worship) with folks who look and act like us. Willimon challenges us not only to welcome the Other, but to “a new way of seeing the neighbor and a new way of being in the world God desperately loves.” There is a DVD that accompanies the book. (Facilitator: Bill Hamilton )
HOLY SPIRIT CONVERSATIONS: Do questions such as “Who is the Holy Spirit?” and “What does the Holy Spirit do?” sound familiar? You are not alone. This small group will discuss these questions and more, using DVD sessions by Nicky Gumbel. All are welcome, especially those who have taken the Alpha class and have not been able to participate in the weekend portion. (Facilitator: David Lord)
